Moving.
March 31, 2008
I am moving to New York I think in June, I think that I am going to give myself a little bit of time to sell stuff and say goodbye. I need to re-connect with people in New York about jobs and further housing connections. So, y’all in New York, if you need a roommate in June or mid-may I would love to talk details about a place to live. I had such an incredible time in New York. My heart pounds like it does when I have a crush on someone when I think about being in New York making amazing coffee with amazing people. More later.Thank you everyone, you know who you are.
tipsy and hearts.

I love talking about love and broken hearts and new or well respected knowledge. I had fun tonight and went out with a few people from Joe’s. I really love NY and am pretty certain I want to move here. I have a lot of details to work out and a lot of new friends to make. I hung out with Gimmie! this morning and could not get enough. Liz, Mike, Jenny and I went on an impromptu cafe crawl and learned all about some sweet ass Jordan’s! I have been handing out my cards like crazy and didn’t bring enough with me today unfortunately. It’s cold, I am slightly warmed by the Bombey and lamb burger and love for the city. A huge shout out to everyone, yes I know blanket, but to everyone that has joined me and said hello on this trip. Thank you, you have been amazing. xoxo
Amazing

I am in New York right now and I am absolutely having the best time ever. I rocked the bar this morning with Rickie, formerly of Vivace and now General Manager of Joe’s. Everyone has been rad and I would update more, but later today. I think I need to go and take a nap so I can last the night. I love, love coffee still. I am off to 9th St. today, I met Zachery in Joe’s this morning and I’ll swing by Grumpy’s later today too. I have so much to ship back and so little room in my bag anymore and I don’t know if I can even bring ceramic on the plane… I’ll call and find out. Amazing, maybe I’ll move?…. Don’t know yet.
xoxo to everyone.
Trotter’s
March 26, 2008
Not much to say here. Here are a handful of photos, my hands were unsteady and I was pretty nervous so a lot of them were fuzzy. And unfortunately I didn’t use a flash though the lighting was dim because I didn’t want to disrupt the atmosphere. Missing home actually and stressing about cash…bleh. Still a 17 hour train ride to go and New York to see. Michael has been great here and I’ll meet Andy in the morning. I got a tour of Trotter’s and accidentally met him…cool!

Day Three: Madison
March 23, 2008
Terrible Dream.I dreamt that my mom and sister died. It was really awful and I woke up crying. The worst part about it was that I had this feeling that I wasn’t done yet. I think that we are beginning something new that started with a conversation months ago that was compounded by her and my dad and sister that came up to support me with Linus. Needless to say I called mom and Sonja right away and they both answered and I felt better. It was unbelievably disarming having mom and family up here supporting me, there was nothing that they wanted from me. It was just support, simple. It was scary telling my mom about this and telling her that I appreciated it and that I think that we are doing something good for our relationship. What a trip.
Madison, from the beginning!
March 22, 2008
Madison in the morning is beautiful. The snow is piled high and my nose is getting stuffy from the beer that Kate and I are drinking inside. Shoveling snow for me is exciting as it is not always a necessity, hence my enthusiasm last night when we went out for a smoke. The deck, walk to the garden, path along the house and the front walk way were inches clear of snow. Kate and I talked and caught up from about 9:45 when the bus rolled into town until about I would say 2 or 3-am. I can’t believe that it took me so long to get out here to see her. I would like to make at least a yearly trip or maybe split to cost to help one another to come in one direction once a year. We might get some rubber boots for me today to deal with the drifts, yet one more thing to send home. I have taken hundreds of photos already and unfortunately found a roll of film destroyed, ah well, more soon. I just need to figure out how to upload the pictures. I slept in till 11, what a waste, so we are off to a late start but more later. I’ll fill you in on Milwaukee soon, I got a little misty about leaving. It went so so fast and everyone out there was amazing, shout out to the Alterra crew and friends, you rock!

Day One: Alterra tours with Lucey
March 21, 2008
I didn’t get much sleep last night and fell asleep in the car pretty quickly after Angela and Michael picked me up this morning.
If any of you have tips with how to load these images up that would be rad, for I do not.
Note that the sky is crystal clear, no clouds at all.
And this is the next morning, by the end of the day there was over a foot of snow on most of the cars. It was amazing, however most people were pretty annoyed. I on the other hand don’t live with snow so as you can imagine I was a great sport for the weather. Scott and Jennie-G (or Jenny G?) appreciated my excitement. We got a bit stuck here and there but importantly no accidents and we got to the bar and bus depot on time. –patting myself on the back… I brought an umbrella and it came in quite useful on Friday morning.
Day One Update:
March 21, 2008
I am exhausted and I can’t wait to sleep and tell you more about it all in the morning!!!!

I also got a new camera! It’s from lomography and you can set two speeds and it takes four photos one right after the other. Either 4 within 2 seconds or .2 seconds or something. It’s cool.
